Nightsphere

I am a wanderer, following a hidden path, known only to those who have not forgotten the world that was. I envisage vast wilderness, a sacred realm unspoiled by modern man. My path is lined with ancient alders. They lead me through black moors and misty fields. I learned to think like a mountain. I learned to speak a language older than words. I learned to see with eyes unclouded by greed. Bow down to Gaia, bow down to Mother Earth. My goddess, she in her I trust, my fortress, my hightower, my shelter, my shield, my eternal love and my one true home. In my dreams I behold a world falling apart. Not a single black wolf is preparing for the sacred hunt. A white stag is bleeding out far from the forgotten glade. In my dreams I behold a world falling apart. Here is nothing but eternal silence. No birds are singing. No seeds are sprouting. I hang my head in shame. Is this the bitter truth? Do I secretly wish for the death of man? My goddess, she in her I trust, my fortress, my hightower, my shelter, my shield, my eternal love and my one true home. Bow down to Gaia, bow down to Mother Earth.

We will waste away clouded by darkness, if we fail to bring about – and by all means – the twilight of the machines. The collapse of time to an extension in space calibrated by machines has bowdlerized our human rhythms. We are bound to live a lie, this empty shell of an existance we call our life. Exiled from presence we are slaves, nailed to the wheel. And even now we hardly see the Earth. We lapse into coma with averted eyes. The crisis deepens. Burnt out are all sparks of resistance and with every wasted hour we choose to kneel. Forever we will kneel! We scarcely feel our hearts beat before they break in protest. We will waste away clouded by darkness, if we fail to bring about – and by all means – the twilight of the machines.

A flock of birds ascends as the dreamer awakes. I behold without breath a world ablaze. The wooden halls stand in flames. The mountain fortress crumbles. The pantheon of oak is under siege. My mouth is filled with ashes, every breath tastes like defeat. I flee in search of shelter towards the mountain peaks. I leave this ravaged land. I retreat to contemplate, where i can become one, with mist and snow, with wind and stone. ...with mist and snow, with wind and stone. I ride on the back of the last of the black wolves. I bring with me the antler of the last of the white stags. I seek counsel with the spirits of the wild, residing in the ruins of melting glaciers high above. A feral force shall gather. Stormclouds herald the way. A thawing glacierheart starts beating for the last time. The spirits of the night shall enlighten the darkened sky as the wild hunt heads for the world of man. Within the forge of progress ancient forests vanish. I grieve for the scalped hills as the glaciers heart falls silent. The white stag won’t ever reach the forgotten glade. All that is wild and free will die on this fateful day. Everything of beauty, everything worth living for, will be engulfed by flames, will be consumed by machinery. I shall perish, fading ghostlike into the night, desperate, yet knowing, that my sacrifice was not in vain. So I shall perish, leaving this world forever, desperate, yet knowing, that I brought twilight into the world of man.

about

6 years after their highly acclaimed album "The Circle" and shortly after their 2023 mini-
album "Wastelands", Heretoir is back with their new intense full-length album "Nightsphere"!

The new record - which will be released by Northern Silence Productions on 6th, October 2023 - is a concept album dealing with the struggle between the forces of nature and a world of machines.

Humanity is in the midst of this confrontation, and the dichotomy between living as an animal among animals and existing as a cog in the wheel of progress determines the course of the story the five songs tell.

"Nightsphere" is a dark album that weaves atmospheric black metal parts with melodic clean passages, swirling blast beats with calm post rock and ambient sounds, and the intensity of desperate screams with the poignant emotionality of melancholic clean vocals into a musical
journey through an archaic world.

It is also the first album that was entirely written by the full band, featuring contributions of every single member.

The album features ambient sounds of the long-time befriended project "Hidehidehide" as well as guest-appearances of two giants of the (post) black metal genre - Tim Yatras of "Austere" who fuels the song "Twilight of the Machines" with his emotional vocal anguish and Nikita Kamprad of "Der Weg einer Freiheit" who delivers intense vocals on
"Glacierheart - Nightsphere Part II".

The natural and organic but powerful sound of the record was crafted by David Deutsch and Justin Felder at 1408 Productions in Hannover, who were responsible for the mix.

Furthermore Nikita Kamprad on top of his guest vocals also took care of the mastering of the album.

Prepare to dive into an emotional maelstrom and highly atmospheric night-realm with "Nightsphere"!
